Hi, I seen in 2011 you had purchased to Babylock melody.I am in the market for a new machine and seen it isn't on the baby site any more yet dealers still have this machine. Kathrine (I believe?) has taken place of the machine. Have you like melody? Are you still currently using it? I'm deciding between katherine and the baby lock. Thank you so much!

Madison,

I have loved my BabyLock Melody for many years. Unfortunately I found this winter that it's not a good machine for quilting though. I've had it in the shop multiple times and they still can't get it to see with a walking foot properly. The stitch length varies widely without reason. As long as you don't plan to machine quilt with it you'll be fine. I plan to purchase a Juki this summer that quilts like a dream. I made each of my kiddies a quilt top for Christmas and was trying to get them all quilted in time for Christmas when my machine went crazy. So frustrating! Hopefully I can get them finished for next Christmas instead. The Melody and the Juki I'm looking at are both about $1000. The Juki only does a straight stitch (no zig zag or fancy stitches) but it takes a walking foot like a dream. It's more of an industrial machine, all metal and needs to be oiled each day you use it. I think every brand has a good machine, so for me the customer service at your dealer is a bit more important. I will never return to my BL dealer as they sold me a machine for quilting that won't actually quilt. 😩 ~Angel
