Welcome to day two of the "Strawberry Biscuit" blog hop!
For the next two weeks various designers will be sharing their unique creations
made with this lovely fabric collection, designed by Elea Lutz for Penny Rose Fabrics.
We are thrilled to be included!
When we saw these fabrics in person we just knew they would make the perfect
little baby shower gift. A sweet pillow for the rocking chair
and a personalized diaper caddy to hold all the changing time essentials.
We started with our signature bunting pillow. Five pennants of Strawberry Biscuit
are appliqued onto a sturdy white twill and strung with baby ric rac.
What could be better than a hand embroidered
"you are loved" message to grow up with?
The backside shows off Elea's fun "Play Date" print in green.
Perfect for a little "eye-spy" just before nap time.
An invisible zipper finishes off this 12"x16" lumbar pillow.
Next up is the diaper caddy. We started with a Sabrina white diaper changing caddy
from Pottery Barn Kids (available year round, also in brown).
We created our liner based on the basket dimensions and the inside is
fitted with a dart at each corner. We chose to highlight Briar Rose in hot pink,
trimming it off with ric rac and again used our sturdy white twill.
Our perfectly fitting bottom is interfaced and lined for extra durability.
The sweet bows criss-cross up to tie around the smooth handle.
And our hand-embroidered ribbon font encircles the entire basket.
That's a lot of stitching!
What we love so much about this particular basket is that it will grow with the child.
Once she is through with diapers, use it to hold her favorite board books
and later sit it on her dresser to keep pretty things organized.
And if she's a crafty girl, she can use it as her very own sewing caddy.
We might just have to make ourselves one too as it's lovely in the sewing room.
Thanks so much for stopping in to see what we created with Strawberry Biscuit.
We hope we've inspired you to whip up some cuteness with this
beautiful line, now in stores, as well.
