Mary and her Lamb and Chocolate Bunnies {new in the shop}

Visit the shop here, to see our latest TaDa! creations.

Bunnies will be placed in the lower corner for toddler sizes and the upper center for big girl sizes. Due to the size of the tees, these positions are most pleasing to the eye.

*Be sure to also become a fan over at our facebook page. Though we do send out newsletters with new listings in the shop, we update facebook first (it's so fast to do). And lately items have been selling out before I even have a chance to get a newsletter put together.

Kimono's for Lilly

With minimal time this week-end, I stayed up way past my bedtime to squeak this one out. But I just can't wait until tomorrow to show it to you.

Remember Lilly? Well, I got to thinking about how chilly hospitals can be and thought she needed at least one top that was lined with minky. I know! Doesn't that just sound dreamy? My girls gave me the idea tonight when I pulled out my minky stash for some upcoming baby blankets I'm making. They both suddenly had to have their own pieces to play with because it was so soft.

I used this pattern and added 3" to the sleeves since the pattern is for a short sleeved top. I also made the size 6-12 mos to allow for the minky inside. Just think how comfy this will be to pull on her after a bath (once she's able). Like a mini robe. I hope she loves it as much as I do.

And how wonderful is this? Once Lilly is done wearing these after her heart surgery, her Mama will be paying them forward to another family facing the same procedure. Doesn't that just melt your heart? That our gifts to Lily will be a much needed gift to other families as well. I hope you take some time this week to make a little top for Lilly. Find all the details here. This one took me about 3 hours to make, but I did make it more complicated than necessary. I really enjoyed praying for this sweet babe while I sewed tonight and I can't wait to send it off in the mail.

***By the way, if the above pattern link doesn't work for you (not sure why some can open it and others can't), please e-mail me at tadacreations@gmail.com and I'll send you back the doc now that I have it saved to my computer. It's only 5 pages to print and super easy to draw out your pattern pieces.

*****Yay! I just e-mailed it to someone and it worked, so that seems to be the route to go. E-mail me! :)

Sewing for Lilly

Photobucket

This sweet baby girl will undergo heart surgery on March 22nd and needs our sewing help.

Her name is Lily Jane Gooch. Lillly has a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), as well as an aortic valve leak. A VSD is a hole between the two ventricles which causes oxygenated and unoxygenated blood to mix in the heart. Her heart has to work very hard, which causes it to swell. Because the hole is between the ventricles and so close to the aortic valve, she has to have open heart surgery to repair it.

She'll have surgery in March (at 10 1/2 months old) with about a week long hospital stay and 6 weeks recovery. For that total of 7 weeks she will not be able to lift her arms. She will only be able to wear kimono style tops which can be easily removed and are unfortunately difficult to find in stores.

Will you join me in making one or more kimono tops for sweet lily? We are hoping to get 14 made for her so her Mom doesn't have to worry about doing laundry during that week stay in the hospital. Nic has already started hers and I've got my fabric picked out and ready to go this week-end.

Although she is almost 10 months old, she only wears size 3to6 months in clothes
Her measurements are
Chest: 17 in
Waist: 16 1/4 in
Hip to feet: 12 1/4 in

There are some free tutorials here and here (try this link too if you can't pull the first two.)

If you are able to help, please mail your kimono(s) here as soon as possible.

Let's bless this family and make this challenging time a little easier as they care for their sweet Lilly. And if you aren't able to sew for her, please keep her in your prayers. Thanks friends!

Darling Ducky {SOLD}

New in the shop today,

one last time.

Photobucket

With your choice of apron design,

cake or umbrella

Photobucket

Oh her aqua apron and cake plate are just killin' me. And don't get me started on the pink bow in her feathers. Eeek...I'm super excited to make this one again. But of course you could choose the April showers scene instead. Who doesn't need a polka dot umbrella?

Photobucket

And how about a custom TaDollie to match, for her Easter basket?

*skirt and tank are not available.

Looking through these photos made me really miss this collection. And especially my girls at this age. I think I'm going to have to stop selling our samples. Or get my hands on that shrink box that Kate is looking for.
*sigh*

Making the call

We are in the midst of another record breaking blizzard here. Just when it started to feel like spring was near, and snow was melting, we are now expecting 20"of snow.

Photobucket

So we made the difficult call to postpone the fashion show. And I'm glad we did. The snow came fast and the wind was whipping creating white-out conditions. We're so glad everyone could stay cozy at home and we look froward to seeing them in two weeks. We've rescheduled the show for Sunday March 6th, from 1-3pm. If you'd still like to come you can call and reserve your seat at 952.233.3774.

Since I don't have fun photos from today I'll share with you our Easter dress instead. We'll be adding it to the shop next week along with a casual tee and ruffle pants to coordinate. We love the idea of the decked out dress for church and dinner and a sweet outfit to change into for playing with the cousins after. Did you get to do that as a kid too?

Photobucket

These sweet Michael Miller prints are available at Eagle Creek and that's where our sample will stay on display. So fun!

Photobucket

Aren't the check and bow prints just too sweet?

*S*W*O*O*N*

And of course, there is Mary and her faithful Lamb.

Are you ready for spring too?

Valentine's Wrap-up

The girls had their first big Valentine exchange with classmates this year. It was a lot of fun and the whole day was just brimming with excitement.

Photobucket

We came home and opened up their bags to see what everyone had given them.

Photobucket

Don't let this face fool you. Can you tell that his eyes are watery? He had stopped crying just long enough to "smile" for the camera. Note to self: next year make Sam his own Valentine bag and fill it with goodies. We didn't give them our little surprises until dinner time, when Daddy was home too, so he was feeling pretty left out and had no problem making it known.

Photobucket

My favorite gift were all the hearts that Allison's class filled out about each of their classmates. What a fun keepsake!

Photobucket

Joey must really like Allison. ;)

Photobucket

Once the sugar coma set in, I found them like this.

Photobucket

Later that night the girls had their first dance performance.

Photobucket

They had so much fun in this 5 week introductory class that we are signing them up for the next one. And seeing the high schoolers perform at the end made me wish I could have taken ballet. I'm so excited to be able to offer this to my girls. I think that knowing how to dance is a great skill to have and everything is based on ballet, isn't it? I hope they enjoy it for a long long time.

Photobucket

Yesterday, Allison lost her 3rd tooth! All 3 have been from the bottom row now. She put her tooth in the pocket of her Dollie and wouldn't ya know, the next morning, it. was. still. there. *gasp* I had no idea the Tooth Fairy could fail so early in the game. To top it off, she came running upstairs to show us and promptly lost it in the carpet. Thankfully the Dyson has a clear canister and we found it after vacuuming tonight. Whew! Allison even left a note of her own this time, asking the TF to "please leave my tooth, from Allison." And Emily created a work of art for her too. She's really dealt with this disappoint much better than the last two. I think waiting so long to be picked for show-and-tell at school has helped her in this area. Her teachers are good at reinforcing how we happily await out turn. Thank you Ms. Pat and Ms. Wendi!

Well, just one more day before our Fashion Show at Eagle Creek and wouldn't ya know they are predicting sleet and a foot of snow. Praying that we don't have to postpone the event due to weather. I just spent the last two days making Amy and myself fun aprons to wear and the girls all got to practice walking the runway tonight. We are ready!

Hope you all had a great week!

Eagle Creek Fashion Show and a Sneak Peek

Forgive me for being to quiet over here on the blog. We've been sewing and stitching our little fingers to the bone. And with just 6 more days until our fashion show at Eagle Creek Quilt Shop, we are excited and a wee bit nervous. Not the bad kind, just the butterflies in the stomach kind. I am by no means a public speaker, but I can sure talk about what I love to do, and I love to sew. I am thrilled to be able to share this event with my bff, our moms and daughters. Lots of planning has gone into this and if you are local we'd love to have you come and join us. Our girls are ready to strut their stuff! We'll even have a drawing for a little TaDa! door prize.

where: ECQS Shakopee, MN (the old train depot)
when: Sunday March 6th 1-3pm
cost: $15 per person
reservations required: 952.233.3774

And here is a peek at a sample dress we made to stay on display in their shop. This is our new Easter dress and she will be popping up in our Etsy store soon.
Be sure to sign up for the newsletter (over there --->) so you don't miss it.

Photobucket

Mary and her lamb make me so exited to see spring. We've finally got melting snow up here and I saw patches of grass around my house and herd some birdies chirping today. I couldn't help but breathe a deep sigh of relief. Oh how I love spring and the promise of something new.

Happy Valentine's Day y'all!

St. Patrick's Day Rainbow Tee for $17

I
T'S TEE TIME AGAIN!

Introducing our non-traditional take on a St. Patrick's day tee. We love clothes that can serve more than one purpose and this tee is no exception. Perfect to wear all spring and summer. If you'd like, we'll even include an extra heart button that you can swap out the shamrock for after the big day.

And because we've already thought ahead for you, the shamrock button will be sewn on separately from the yellow buttons, making for an easy swap. Because we're nice like that. ;)

Photobucket

A looser zig zag from our usual satin stitch gives a little touch of whimsy and still keeps the fabric edges from fraying. The yellow pot-of-gold buttons may vary slightly, without affecting the design. Ahem...do yo have any idea how hard it is to lay out buttons so they look perfectly random and still like them? The OCD part of my brain just wouldn't let me have peace about it, so yes they are symmetrical. Hope you don't mind. ;)

We've even got toddler sizes this time. Yay!

Tees are $17 + $3 to ship
If ordered prior to Feb 20th, your tee(s) will ship Feb 25th.
