Remember Lilly? Well, I got to thinking about how chilly hospitals can be and thought she needed at least one top that was lined with minky. I know! Doesn't that just sound dreamy? My girls gave me the idea tonight when I pulled out my minky stash for some upcoming baby blankets I'm making. They both suddenly had to have their own pieces to play with because it was so soft.
I found a free kimono pattern on-line and added 3" to the sleeves since the pattern is for a short sleeved top. I also made the size 6-12 mos to allow for the minky inside. Just think how comfy this will be to pull on her after a bath (once she's able). Like a mini robe. I hope she loves it as much as I do.

And how wonderful is this? Once Lilly is done wearing these after her heart surgery, her Mama will be paying them forward to another family facing the same procedure. Doesn't that just melt your heart? That our gifts to Lily will be a much needed gift to other families as well. I hope you take some time this week to make a little top for Lilly. Find all the details here. This one took me about 3 hours to make, but I did make it more complicated than necessary. I really enjoyed praying for this sweet babe while I sewed tonight and I can't wait to send it off in the mail.

I couldn't get the link to work :(
It's beautiful Angel! I can just imagine how soft it is, what a wonderful idea. She is going to love it!
It is so sweet, Angel! I love it! And I love that you have a great big heart for helping others. Since my sewing skills are lacking (boo!) I contacted some of my fave mom-owned shops and told them about Lily hoping they too would donate kimonos. Fingers crossed...prayers lifted :)
Thanks ladies! I think I need one in my size too. ;)
Sandy, I'm not sure why the link won't work for you, but e-mail me at tadacreations@gmail.com and I'll see if I can send you the doc. I have it saved to my computer now. At the very least I could also mail you a copy of it, we have time...

I LOVE it, and I know Lilly will too! I can not thank all of you enough. This is so, so special to me and my family. I never thought anything like this would/could happen so quickly. Lisa is an amazing person to have started all of this. I will definitely be taking pictures and updating everyone along the way. I think the fact that I can "pay it forward" makes it just that more special. Thank you for all the support and prayers!
