Hey y'all! I know I've been a very bad blogger for the past couple of months and I do apologize. I've been trying to juggle everything around here lately and something had to give. But if you are still reading, I am doing my best to get back here regularly and hopefully with fall already here I'll have more to do so.
I can't believe I haven't even had the time to tell you some of the most exciting news of the summer! My best friend, Sara, and her family have finally moved back to MN. Major happy dance going on over here. They haven't lived in MN for the entire 13 years of their marriage...until now. We are all just so excited to have them back.
This morning I had the pleasure of photographing one month old, Kennedy Grace. For some reason this session really tested my skills (or lack of). It could have been the extremely overcast day, the long trek to the spot I thought was perfect (only to realize it wasn't necessary) and the worry that we would only have a tiny window of happiness from this little girl who has well earned her nick name of "cry baby". They say colic peeks at 4-6 weeks, so there should be some relief soon we hope.
But I think it was mostly the hundreds of mosquitoes that swarmed us once we stopped to set up shop. Since we didn't think to bring bug spray, the girls dutifully stood guard by Sam as his official mosquito swatters while Sara and I kept careful watch over Miss Kennedy. We then moved inside where the lack of light (overcast day, remember) was a huge challenge. Boy do I need more practice and know-how. I'll be requesting a do-over for the next sunny day we have.

But, here are the best I got from today. Hopefully enough to tide them over.

Precious little Kennedy, I pray that you would grow up never having reason to doubt God's love for you. He placed you into the arms of two loving parents who adore you and will delight in watching you grow into the young woman that He intends you to be.

May you always feel the Father's love as it is modeled at home.

May you have a strong desire to serve others first and to give unselfishly of your talents.

May you always find contentment on whatever path God directs your feet.

I pray for a strong bond between you and your big brother. That he would be protective of his baby sister and that the two of you would be lifelong friends.

Steve and Sara, you are blessed beyond measure. You have two beautiful, healthy children to share your life with and to point them to the Lord. You have a strong marriage that is built to last because the foundation is in Christ.

You have always been an inspiration to me and I am just thrilled to have you so close. I will thoroughly enjoy watching our boys grow up together and sharing in the joys of raising our families in the same city.

Love you!

Such a beautiful little thing!!! Oh, how quickly they grow! Love her sweet name too! Kennedy was one of Lance's faves when I was pregnant with Grace.
Yay for having your BFF in the same city!!!
The pictures are soooo sweet. The words- Amazing!!! Brought tears to my eyes.
Angel, I so enjoyed today. Thank you for blessing me and my family, and thank you for prayer. You've prayed for things I didn't think to pray but will now.
Beautiful the words and the photos!
I cannot possibly imagine WHY you would want a do-over! I, too, am a photographer & they look great to me! :)
