Cookies vs Broccoli

I got this e-mail from my Mom.  It made me chuckle.

"...while driving home after being at the playground, I was talking with Emily and Allison about coming over to our house while you and Dave had Bible study. Allison asked me if I had any cookies. I asked her if she liked cookies. Allison said "Oh, yes! I like cookies." Emily asked "Kiki,
do you have any brocolli?  I like brocolli!"

It is not every 3 1/2 yr old who, in the midst of a discussion about cookies, starts thinking about brocolli. :)

They are indeed a pair of extraordinary little people!"

I couldn't agree more!

It's a happy...floating feeling...kind of...kite flying day

Sandwiched right between several days of April showers,
we had a gorgeous, windy day.

A perfect kite flying day.

Photobucket

The girls were so excited to play in the wind.
They ask to do that most every day.

Photobucket

When I told them we could fly their kites, Allison said
"I love having you (for a) Mommy!" and ran to hug my legs.

They took to it right away.
You'd never know this was their first time flying a kite.

making their day a bit more special

This morning, Allie helped Daddy pack his lunch.

In a brown paper bag.

This little girl wants to be just like her daddy.

She begged for her breakfast in a paper bag to bring to school today.

I told her "no" cereal belongs in a bowl.

This little girl hears "no" far too often.

So after school I had this waiting for them.

Photobucket

And these too.

Photobucket

Photobucket

They were too tired to show their excitement.

Photobucket

But I know they loved it.

Photobucket

I even overcame my fear of staining the vintage tablecloth.

Photobucket

Well almost...the plates helped.

Photobucket

Like I said, they were tired.

Photobucket

Allie preferred to save her lunch until later, even requesting to sleep with it.

Photobucket

We compromised, it's in the fridge.

Have you heard of Susan Boyle?

I hadn't until my Mom sent me this link.  She has a gorgeous voice and the looks on Simon's face are pretty amazing and rare to see.  I've watched this 3 times today which is saying a lot because I have to lock myself in the bathroom to get away from the noise or I can't hear it.  LOL

Have you met Maggie?

Laurie of Kandy Kisses Boutique just debuted her new line for Spring 09, called Maggie. It is absolutely delightful! She used Patti's fabrics and added her creative genius. You'll notice Jenn's fabulous photography too. An all-around great collaboration! I want every piece and really really wish I could get away with wearing them myself.

you can keep your fork

A woman knew she was dying. She met with her pastor to plan her funeral. She picked the music, the scripture, asked to have her Bible buried with her and for the Pastor to give a clear presentation of the Gospel.

What the pastor didn't expect to hear was that she wanted to be buried with a fork in her hand.

She told him that throughout her life, her most favorite part of Church potlucks and family get-togethers, was after the meal, when plates were being cleared and someone would say "you can keep your fork." For that meant that something better was coming, desert, and it wasn't Jell-o.

She wanted people to ask "what's with the fork?" and for the Pastor to say "she knows that something better is coming."

Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. For all mankind. Because of Him, we can know that something better is coming.

He is risen. He is risen indeed!

Happy Resurrection Day!

This could be dangerous!

I stumbled upon Angie of Bakerella, last month, while reading Pioneer Woman's blog. I knew she made cute things so I added her to my blogroll. It wasn't until this morning that I actually sat down to learn all that I could from this talented lady.

Oh me oh my, how I have been missing out!

Cake Pops

Photobucket

These made me *giggle*.

Photobucket

After eating Easter dinner, you might appreciate this one.

Photobucket

Would you believe that these are all super easy to make?

Photobucket

Seriously easy. Just a cake mix and a can of cream cheese frosting to start.
Then you dip them in melted candy coating.

Photobucket

She gives you a complete list of everything she decorates with, for each design.

Photobucket

She is my sweet tooth hero.

Photobucket

*sigh*

Photobucket

Thank you Angie for making my day a lot brighter! :D

Photobucket

Our cake just came out of the oven.
I can't wait to buy some supplies tonight for lots of Easter fun tomorrow.

Yes, I think Easter is officially my favorite holiday.
